I thought the digital library's secret stash of the following would be brand spanking new for the thread, but ever-vigilant Member "Joszka" put up a very comprehensive collection in his Post #354 from 2020. While researching for these Abner-related posts, I discovered "The New York Public Library Digital Collection," where a good number of the following were retrieved from, mixed with images found on the web: Here's Tina being helped with her costume by Julie Newmar: To be more accurate, Member "Redcobra" had put up (in his Post #285) another image (although not identified), which I noticed only later. A couple of her record albums: But Tina Louise could do things with a push-up bra that few women could, so it's a real shame we haven't got a technicolor movie of her in her Appassionata costume. Stella Stevens got the part instead, so there was still eye candy, and while Tina Louise was a good singer, Stevens wasn't, so she wouldn't have argued that the song be restored. Unfortunately for us all, when they made the movie, Tina refused to be in it because they had cut out her solo song during the Broadway run and decided they wouldn't re-insert it in the movie. The role that first made her famous: Appassionata Von Climax in Broadway's "Li'l Abner". Member "Raritan," in one of his very rare-inta VEF Valley appearances (he amscrayed in 2007, and only six of his posts have survived too bad, since he was informative) when he began this thread in 2007, focused on Tina and Abner: I'm here because after I presented views of Julie Newmar and Edie Adams in their respective threads, regarding their enticing appearances from the 1956-58 Broadway production of Li'l Abner, I wondered what was out there regarding the exquisite Tina Louise's appearance as "Appassionata Von Climax."
